Protecting Malaysian citizens from contamination and water supply disruptions
The Kuala Lumpur manufacturing plant of water treatment producer and distributor, Waterco Limited (ASX:WAT), has released a new range of residential and commercial filters to help protect Malaysian citizens from toxic contamination and water supply disruptions.
Waterco designed the new filters to help combat increased river pollution and protect natural resources.
“The demand for high-quality water filtration is critical in Malaysia due to water disruption supply and ongoing pollution issues that have haunted the Klang Valley and throughout Malaysia over the past few years,” says Waterco regional business manager, Zao Cheong Koo.
Last year’s Kim Kim River chemical waste spill in Pasir Gudang coupled with uncontrolled development in catchment areas has forced many companies like Waterco to introduce strict water saving measures to reduce wastage.
“Malaysia is an important global manufacturing hub and the general economy can be negatively affected by pollution and ongoing disruption to water supplies,” he explains. “Installing water filtration systems in commercial premises and manufacturing plants safeguard production and water resources.”
“Waterco filters can operate up to 10 bar pressure rating, are hydraulically efficient and can be customised according to customer requirements,” Koo explains. “Depending on the filtration media loaded into the filters, they can remove many pollutants that might present inside the water.”
