Czech Water Alliance (CWA): One of the Export Alliances Founded by CzechTrade
Czech Water Alliance (CWA) was established in 2004. CWA is one of the export alliances founded by CzechTrade. The aim of the alliance is to develop and promote the Czech companies, their products and technologies to foreign customers. CWA seeks to improve the position of Czech firms in the export of services and technologies in water management.
Several companies are making their presence at the Czech Water Alliance (CWA) booth to reach out and connect with potential business partners.
Asian Water: Can you briefly describe your company and what are the products that you are exhibiting at ASIAWATER 2024?
Czech Water Alliance (CWA): The Czech Water Alliance (CWA) represents a community of 22 companies unified by over 20 years of mutual collaboration in the field of water management. Some of these companies are showcasing their technologies at the ASIAWATER 2024 expo, while others participate as guests. From CWA’s perspective, the focus is not on presenting specific technologies, but on complete solutions within a collaborative approach.
The Czech Republic is at the heart of Europe, which, over the last 30 years, has had to travel a long journey – from an ecologically irresponsible approach at the end of the 20th century to somewhat dramatic preparations for the “Green Deal”. This required the implementation of innovative and economically efficient solutions that have helped shape the profile of the alliance’s members.
The challenge is not a lack of technologies, but their appropriate implementation based on careful analysis and experience. The “product” of CWA is primarily project management and a multidisciplinary approach to solutions that suit the local situation and possibilities.

Asian Water: How do you view the water industry in the Asia Pacific region?
Czech Water Alliance (CWA): Water management issues are of paramount importance in the Asia and Pacific region because they condition the possibility of further industrial and urban growth. Water demand is expected to increase by 55% by 2030, with agriculture consuming 70% of the continent’s freshwater. At the same time, there is a significant migration of populations to cities and surrounding agglomerations, creating enormous pressure to optimize the use of water resources.
Asian Water: What are the challenges faced by the industry and how does your company provide the solutions to these challenges?
Czech Water Alliance (CWA): We consider the biggest challenge to be ensuring an adequate supply of quality professionals for the design and management of water management projects. The priority is the transfer not just of individual technologies, but especially of entire technological processes. It is also important to support the implementation of these processes with educational programs to ensure their sustainability and further development.
In this respect, another of the alliance’s strengths is evident in the form of comprehensive support from the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and especially the CzechTrade export agency.
