Driving Water Innovation: Jacobs Shortlisted for Water Company of the Year Award
Jacobs has been shortlisted for the prestigious Water Company of the Year award at the 2025 Global Water Awards, recognising its commitment to advancing the global water sector and delivering industry-leading water solutions that benefit people and the planet.
Organised by Global Water Intelligence (GWI), the Global Water Awards celebrate groundbreaking achievements across the water sector and recognize innovation, operational excellence and initiatives that are driving the industry forward.
The Water Company of the Year award is presented to the company that has made the most significant contribution to the development of the international water sector in 2024. GWI shortlisted Jacobs for the breadth of its water expertise – noting its work on PFAS removal, AI deployment and nitrous oxide emissions reduction in 2024 – as well as our significant contract wins and delivery milestones for major water programs worldwide.
Jacobs’ projects and clients are also shortlisted in multiple award categories:
- Waste Water Project of the Year: The City of Hamilton, Ontario’s Woodward Wastewater Treatment Plant Phase I Upgrade. This comprehensive treatment upgrade improves water quality in Hamilton Harbour – listed as a “Great Lakes Area of Concern” – and involves the largest tertiary disk filtration facility in the world. Jacobs provided design services for the project and was selected last year to design a second phase upgrade.
- Public Water Agency of the Year: JXN Water recognising the significant improvements made to water service reliability and community trust in Jackson, Mississippi since JXN Water was established in 2022. Jacobs has provided operation and maintenance services to JXN Water and was recently appointed to a new 10-year contract to manage Jackson’s water system.
- Public Water Agency of the Year: Yarra Valley Water with GWI commending the utility’s net-zero initiatives. Jacobs and Yarra Valley Water collaborated on a study of co-located green hydrogen production at wastewater treatment plants.
Winners will be announced at the Global Water Summit in Paris, 12-14 May 2025.
