GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
General requirements for the content of articles.
- Manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original work that has not been published or under consideration for publication elsewhere.
- The journal accepts articles that represent the results of original scientific research, notes, reports, and reviews of the latest research focused on all aspects of water science technology including its numerous related disciplined
- The manuscript must be written in good English, may vary in length from 5,000-7,500 words and should be no more than 20 pages in length inclusive of tables, figures and illustrations.
- The manuscript must be submitted in Word format.
- Format your manuscript for standard A4 paper with moderate margins.
- PDF format is not accepted.
- Text must be in one column.
- The font: Calibri.
- The font size: 10 for the whole text except the title (18).
- Space: single (before: 0 & after: 0).
MANUSCRIPT STRUCTURE
The Title should be a brief phrase describing the contents of the paper. The Abstract (maximum 200 words) should be informative and completely self-explanatory, briefly present the topic, state the scope of the experiments, indicate significant data and point out major findings and conclusions. The Keywords should be between 3 to 6. The Introduction should provide a clear statement of the problem and the relevant literature on the subject. Materials and Methods should be complete enough to allow experiments to be reproduced. Results should be presented with clarity and precision. The Discussion should interpret the findings given the results obtained in this and past studies on this topic. State the Conclusions in a few sentences at the end of the Discussion. The Acknowledgments of people, grants, funds, etc., should be brief.
REFERENCES AND CITATIONS
Asian Water strictly adheres to the American Psychological Association (APA) style (7th Edition) for citations and references in all submitted manuscripts. While Reference Management software, such as EndNote, Mendeley and Zotero, can be valuable tools for organizing and formatting citations and references, Asian Water kindly requests that authors remove all field codes generated by these programs before submitting their manuscripts. This ensures the submitted document is clean and free from hidden coding or formatting issues that may disrupt the review and publication process. By removing the field codes, authors contribute to smoothly processing their manuscripts within Asian Water’s editorial system.
FIGURES AND TABLES
Figures should be high quality (1,200 dpi for line art, 600 dpi for grayscale and 300 dpi for colour, at the correct size). Figures should be supplied in one of our preferred file formats: EPS, PS, JPEG, TIFF, or Microsoft Word (DOC or DOCX) files are acceptable for figures that have been drawn in Word. Obtain permission and include the acknowledgement required by the copyright holder if a figure is being reproduced from another source. Tables should present new information rather than duplicating what is in the text. Readers should be able to interpret the table without reference to the text. Please supply editable files. PEER REVIEW PROCESS
Upon manuscript submission, all papers undergo a rigorous internal review conducted by the esteemed editors of Asian Water. Only manuscripts that meet Asian Water’s meticulous criteria regarding content quality, linguistic proficiency, overall length and adherence to citation and reference formatting guidelines proceed to the next stage. These selected manuscripts are then subjected to an external peer review process, following a ‘double-blind’ approach, ensuring the anonymity of both authors and reviewers. The review process typically spans a duration of approximately 6 to 8 weeks, allowing ample time for comprehensive assessment and thoughtful consideration of the manuscript’s contributions to the field.
PLAGIARISM
Plagiarism is not acceptable in Asian Water submissions. All the submitted manuscripts are checked for plagiarism before starting the review process. The editors will run a plagiarism check using Turnitin for the submitted manuscripts before sending them to reviewers. Asian Water does not process any plagiarised content. If a manuscript has over 20% plagiarism based on the results of the Turnitin check, the manuscript will be sent back to the author to revise the plagiarised contents.
PUBLICATION FREQUENCY
This journal publishes six issues a year (bimonthly): February, April, June, August, October and December.
ARTICLE PUBLICATION CHARGES (APC)
Asian Water does not charge authors fees for article publishing.
