MOU SIGNING BETWEEN PUB and RWANDA’S WATER AND SANITATION CORPORATION

PUB, Singapore’s National Water Agency, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Rwanda’s Water and Sanitation Corporation (WASAC) at the Singapore International Water Week 2022.

The MOU will deepen collaboration, and promote leveraging technology, capacity development and knowledge exchange on water supply management.

By working together, PUB strives to co-create mutually beneficial solutions with water utilities around the world.  The MOU with Rwanda’s WASAC further aims to facilitate knowledge exchanges in the fields of water supply, water network management, used water management and resilience in the face of climate change.

The knowledge exchanges will also focus on research and development, and facilitate the commercialisation of new technologies in new markets. Specifically, both parties will exchange knowledge on water technologies in the areas of water supply network leakage detection and water quality monitoring.

The MOU is also expected to facilitate the deployment of promising technologies to address water challenges in both utilities. These exchanges will be facilitated through study visits to water infrastructure and facilities in Singapore, meetings with Singapore water companies, and capacity building through training programmes at the Singapore Water Academy.

The signing of the MOU, which will also help to deepen relations between Singapore and Rwanda, reiterates the importance of SIWW as a global platform for thought leaders, experts and practitioners from governments, utilities, academia and industry to share and co-create innovative solutions.
