Sanders: The global water and fluid handling industry is being influenced by several key trends: water systems are becoming more digital, there is a growing need for sustainable treatment methods and regulations on water quality are becoming more stringent. Within those elements just defined, internationally, water reuse is a rapidly growing trend especially in developing countries. Driven by population growth, need for more economic investment and desire for sustainable water supply, water reuse provides a potential alternative to traditional water treatment avenues.
Blue-White Industries is well positioned to be a part of this ongoing evolution. Our ability to continually innovate, and provide cutting-edge pumping and flow measurement products, to both utilities and industries that are looking to modernise, gives our customers the ability to adapt. Whether discussing our advanced pump design, the ability of our products to handle a wide gamut of chemicals, the choice of peristaltic or diaphragm dosing pump technology, and our 5-year warranty, our ability to work hand in hand with our customers to improve efficiency, reliability and sustainability all contribute to the value of our product.
Asian Water: What are the biggest challenges facing the water industry today, and how is Blue-White Industries helping to solve them?
Sanders: The water industry, especially in Asia, faces several major challenges, including infrastructure challenges, increasing water scarcity and treatment plant capacity. Underinvestment in infrastructure upgrades, especially in Southeast Asia, continues to be a challenge. The depletion of groundwater especially in China and India, is rapidly approaching an unsustainable rate where replenishment lags, and the continued population growth in Asia leads to the inability to treat water quickly and efficiently.
These challenges require more reliable treatment processes, better monitoring, and improved operational efficiency across water and wastewater systems. That is where Blue-White has excelled in providing other regions with technologies/products that mitigate the challenges. Our products for municipal and industrial water treatment use advanced technologies to precisely control chemical dosing for disinfection, pH adjustment, coagulation and nutrient removal….key processes for maintaining water quality and compliance. Blue-White’s solutions ensure accurate chemical feed, reliable flow measurement and durable, low-maintenance equipment, improving efficiency while safeguarding public health and the environment.
Asian Water: How do you see Blue-White’s role evolving in the global markets, and what regions or sectors present the biggest growth opportunities?
Sanders: Blue-White Industries is poised to grow in the global water and process markets by emphasizing innovation, automation and precise chemical dosing. We currently provide solutions in over 60 different countries and have satellite offices in Canada, Europe and Latin America, while our products and ability to evolve with market needs never cease. Our pumps now incorporate the need for increasing digital connectivity in water systems. Our M-Series pumps, designed for both potable water and wastewater treatment, integrate a full slate of intelligent communication controls as a standard offering. Simplicity in design and controls provides for quicker understanding and allows our clients to enhance process control, minimise chemical waste, and meet regulatory standards, establishing Blue-White as a technology partner, not just another piece of equipment in the building.
We see Asia-Pacific as a region for significant growth and investment. Rapid industrialisation and the need for cleaner, safer water, is a perfect recipe for Blue-White to be a solution to assist in the rising demand for advanced water treatment technologies. In the past two years, we have added distribution partners in key growth countries. From a sector perspective, our core focus is water and delivering water safety to all. Our focus and growth over the past five years have been driven by this and especially in municipal water. This does not mean that we are not involved in other markets such as, food and beverage, mining, agriculture and aquatics. The heart of our business is water and fluid feed.
Asian Water: Could you share how Blue-White prioritizes research and development? What areas are you investing most heavily for the future?
Sanders: At Blue‑White Industries, research and development constitute a fundamental priority, with the objective of advancing precision, reliability and automation within fluid handling technology. The core value of innovation and not resting on what we have already accomplished fuels our investments in the development of next generation of simple, and yet sophisticated chemical metering pumps and flow measurement systems.
Without going too far into what is in our pipeline of new products, we can say that central to our strategy is the integration of digital connectivity, remote monitoring and innovative pump designs, designs that deliver improved chemical dosing accuracy while minimising maintenance and operational expenses, and making sure it’s simple enough for our customer base to utilise.
Asian Water: How have customers responded to your latest technologies, and can you share a specific example where your products made a measurable difference?
Sanders: Customers have shown strong approval for Blue-White Industries’ latest technologies, largely due to enhanced reliability, automation and more precise chemical dosing. Many facilities that switched to advanced peristaltic metering pumps experienced a notable drop in maintenance requirements and greater operational consistency. For instance, a wastewater treatment facility in California USA upgraded from an older, non-Blue-White diaphragm pump, which used to need extensive repairs every four to five months because of leaks and part failures to the FLEXFLO® M3 peristaltic metering pump. Since making the change, operators reported that, over the first seven months, they didn’t have to perform any repairs or upkeep at all, while also enjoying simpler operation and steadier chemical dosing.
We have more examples that can be found via our corporate website (www.blue-white.com) but more importantly if you have a challenging system that you would like our experts to assess, please let us know.
