Global Water Sector Sees Investment Boom – Vietwater 2025 Unlocks Strategic Connectivity in Vietnam’s water sector
According to the newly released Currents of Capital 2025 report by international law firm White & Case LLP, 2024 witnessed an unprecedented surge in global water sector investment. An impressive 30% of investors allocated over USD500 million, while 15% exceeded the USD1 billion mark. Notably, private infrastructure funds are approaching public sector levels in capital deployment and multinational corporations continue to expand their investments in water and environmental technologies.
In this context, the Vietwater 2025 International Exhibition, taking place from 22-24 October 2025 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC), is expected to serve as a strategic convergence point for capital, technology, and expertise in the water sector. This year marks the largest edition to date, co-located with three specialised trade shows: WETV Waste Expo (Vietnam Waste Treatment and Environment Technology), DroneX Vietnam and Flood Control & Disaster Management Vietnam.

Vietnam – The New Hub for Water Infrastructure Investment
Evolving from a technology consumer into a regional innovation hub, Vietnam is fast emerging as a key connector for water sector investment in ASEAN. With rapid urbanisation and increasing demand for wastewater treatment, disaster prevention and water reuse, the country is becoming an attractive destination for global stakeholders.
Vietwater 2025 exemplifies this momentum, hosting over 500 exhibitors from 25 countries, including water technology leaders such as Japan, Germany, China, Taiwan and Sweden. The concurrent events like DroneX Vietnam will showcase UAV solutions for water monitoring and disaster forecasting, while WETV Waste Expo and Flood Control will focus on solid waste treatment, flood control & disaster management and early warning systems.
Technology and AI Driving Innovation in the Water Industry
The Currents of Capital 2025 report also reveals that more than 60% of industry stakeholders identify artificial intelligence (AI) as a key driver for comprehensive transformation in the water sector. At Vietwater 2025, cutting-edge innovations will take center stage, including AI-powered water network monitoring, IoT-based flow measurement devices, and drones for infrastructure inspection.
In addition, Vietwater 2025 will feature an international conference programme tackling urgent topics such as:
- Circular economy in the water industry
