IE expo China 2026 to Spotlight Sanitation Technology with STACAES Partnership

  • A dedicated Featured Zone for Sanitation Equipment & Services strengthens the visibility of sanitation technologies with strong relevance for water and wastewater management
  • 13-15 April 2026, SNIEC Shanghai, 2,400 exhibitors, 90,000+ trade visitors and more than 30 conferences expected
  • Focus on AI-driven environmental technology clusters and solutions for new dual-carbon pathways

IE expo China 2026, one of Asia’s leading trade fairs for environmental technology solutions, is strengthening its sanitation equipment and services offering through a strategic cooperation with the Shanghai Trade Association of City Appearance and Environmental Sanitation (STACAES). The cooperation takes place against the backdrop of a rapidly evolving sanitation sector, shaped by the growing adoption of smart technologies, the acceleration of new-energy applications and the increasing use of automated and autonomous systems in sanitation operations.

As part of IE expo China, the Featured Zone for Sanitation Equipment & Services consolidates sector expertise within a dedicated exhibition area. It brings together technologies and solutions spanning sanitation equipment, operational systems and smart management approaches that increasingly intersect with water and wastewater infrastructure, including drainage systems, municipal fleet operations and integrated urban services. For professional visitors, the Featured Zone offers a compact overview of market-ready solutions, practical applications and emerging technologies, enabling targeted exchange between technology providers, operators and decision-makers.

Complementary expertise on an international platform
Through the partnership, STACAES contributed in-depth sector knowledge and close industry ties, while IE expo China brings the international network and experience of Messe München and the global IFAT brand. Together, they form a focused interface between regional market demand and global environmental technology expertise. STACAES’ close connections to municipal stakeholders and operational practice help ensure that the showcased solutions address real-world requirements and current development priorities within urban sanitation services.

“By working with STACAES, we aim to further enhance the visibility of sanitation technologies and establish a clearer focal point for this segment, enabling more targeted exchange for exhibitors and visitors,” commented Jiang Gang, Managing Director at Messe Muenchen Zhongmao.

Smart sanitation, automation and dual-carbon pathways
IE expo China’s established exhibit range spans water and wastewater treatment, water supply and drainage systems, solid waste management, air pollution control, soil remediation and environmental monitoring. The enhanced sanitation focus complement these product groups and highlights current technological trends in smart sanitation, such as intelligent equipment, autonomous cleaning applications and low-carbon approaches. Many of these developments are closely linked to water-related operations, such as sewer maintenance and the optimisation of cleaning and inspection processes within urban water infrastructure.

The 2026 edition places strong emphasis on AI-driven environmental technology clusters and resources for new dual-carbon pathways, highlighting how digitalisation, automation and energy-efficient technologies are reshaping environmental services and municipal operations.

Conference programme addresses automation and robotics in sanitation
Alongside the exhibition, IE expo China 2026 will feature more than 30 conferences and over 300 thematic sessions. Within the sanitation-focused programme, a dedicated forum on smart environmental sanitation and autonomous-driving cleaning technology will examine how autonomous vehicles, robotics and intelligent control systems are transforming urban cleaning operations and improving service efficiency—a topic of growing interest for international visitors and technology providers. The conference programme also provides an international platform for exchange, offering insights into practical implementation, regulatory perspectives and future technology trends across sanitation, water and environmental services.

IE expo China 2026 will take place from 13-15 April 2026 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC).
