Aquatech China 2026 to Showcase Next Generation of Water Technology and Innovation

Aquatech China 2026 will return to Shanghai New International Expo Centre in Shanghai from 28–30 October 2026, bringing together water technology companies, industry professionals, researchers and procurement decisionmakers from across China and international markets. As part of the global Aquatech series and the Asia-Pacific extension of Aquatech Amsterdam, the event has established itself as an important meeting point for the region’s water technology sector.

The 2026 edition will expand to approximately 30,000 sqm, with more than 450 domestic and international brands expected to participate and around 18,000 industry buyers anticipated. The exhibition will cover the breadth of the water treatment value chain, including water purification, water and wastewater treatment, water infrastructure, pumps, pipes and valves, as well as process control, automation and smart water management.

The programme will extend beyond the exhibition floor through AquaAcademy and AquaStage, where industry experts and technology specialists will address issues ranging from membrane technologies and wastewater treatment to smart water management, sludge treatment, ultrapure water, seawater desalination and green water supply. Under the overarching themes of “Technology, Innovation, Future,” the sessions will examine emerging technologies alongside market developments and practical industry applications.

A key feature of the 2026 edition will be the Innovation Lab, bringing together four sources of innovation: corporate, engineering, university and AI-driven development. Around 16 companies are expected to present emerging products and technologies, including solutions involving artificial intelligence, IoT, membrane technology, zero-emission systems, smart water management and seawater desalination. The initiative will provide a glimpse into technologies that are still at the development or pre-commercialisation stage.

Innovation will also be recognised through the Aquatech China Innovation Awards, which will be presented during the Aquatech China Innovation Awards Dinner on 28 October under the theme “Connecting the World, Redefining the Values.” The awards will recognise new products, technologies and solutions across five categories: water supply, water and wastewater treatment, transport and process control, green chemicals and innovations not yet on the market.

Aquatech China 2026 will also draw on partnerships with professional associations across water, environmental protection, food, chemical and other industrial sectors. These networks are intended to encourage cross-sector knowledge exchange and connect water technology providers with a broader range of end users.

Adding a more interactive element to the 2026 edition will be Aqua Bubble, the first IP character introduced by Aquatech China. The initiative will feature activities throughout the three-day event, including IP parades, visitor interactions and social-media activities.

With its combination of technology showcases, technical discussions, innovation programmes and industry networking, Aquatech China 2026 will provide a platform for water professionals to examine emerging solutions and developments across one of Asia’s largest and most dynamic water technology markets.
