Eco Expo Asia returns in December
The Eco Expo Asia 2022 will be held at the Hong Kong Conference and Exhibition Centre from December 14-17. Only the final day of the event on Dec 17 would be open to the public and online services will run until 24 December.
Themed “Green Innovations for Carbon Neutrality”, the fair will explore the technological innovations helping to de-carbonize the world. As one of the leading events for the environmental protection industry, the fair provides a platform for showcasing innovative green products and services, learning about the latest trends and expanding business networks.
This year’s edition will once again feature a diverse array of thematic zones across different areas of the environmental protection industry. These include smart technologies, energy saving and green buildings, net-zero energy generation, green finance and ESG, waste reduction and green transportation. In addition, three country and region pavilions from Hong Kong, Japan and Canada will be present this year. The Hong Kong pavilion will host local companies and a number of government agencies, with two new participants, the Civil Engineering and Development Department and Energizing Kowloon East.
The Japan pavilion will quadruple in size this year to accommodate some 30 exhibitors at this year’s edition. Highlighted exhibitors include Japan Airlines, who’s commitment to achieving net zero CO2 emissions by 2050 has led to their first ever fully sustainable charter flight this month. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (Hong Kong) Ltd will showcase their work on the Macau LRT, supporting the Macau SAR government’s vision for an environmentally-friendly transport system by 2030. Mt Fuji Springs will display their 100% recycled PET bottles, demonstrating Japan’s prowess as the world’s second best recycler of plastics.
The Canada pavilion will return once again this year featuring leading Canadian companies from waste management, green buildings, solar power and IoT solutions. New participants this year include C4P Inc, who focus on solar powered appliances for off-grid living, as well as net zero buildings. Anaergia will showcase its range of solutions in anaerobic digestion for various types of waste. Also confirmed is CarbonCure Technologies Inc, whose innovative technology uses recaptured CO2 to create reinforced cement.
Eco Expo Asia 2022 will also organize a variety of fringe events including The 3rd Hydrogen Economy Forum, which will explore a range of hydrogen-related topics including “Waste-to-Hydrogen”, “Hydrogen Fuel Cell, Supply, Storage and Current Limitations”, “Safety and Certification Aspects of Hydrogen Fuel Cells” and more. Other fringe events taking place this year include: “Potential of Repair and Reuse in Achieving a Circular Business Model”, “Advancing Net Zero – Retro-fit for Building Energy Efficiency”, “Latest Development of Government Projects”, “Innovations for Carbon Neutrality”, “Green & Sustainable Finance Session – Establishing Hong Kong as a Regional Carbon Trading Hub” and “Latest Development of Government Projects”.
Eco Expo Asia is organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, and co-organized by the Environment and Ecology Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Last year’s edition gathered over 16,000 visitors and 211 exhibitors.
