Informa Markets Vietnam Announces 17th International Exhibition for Water and Environment Industry
Returning for its 17th edition, Vietwater 2026 – one of Vietnam’s leading international exhibitions for water, water supply and drainage, water purification and wastewater treatment – will officially take place from 4 – 6 November 2026 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC), Ho Chi Minh City.
Organised by Informa Markets Vietnam, Vietwater 2026 is expected to bring together more than 450 exhibitors from over 40 countries and territories, showcasing technologies, equipment and solutions across water supply and drainage, water purification and treatment, wastewater treatment, smart water management, automation, water reuse and sustainable infrastructure development. The event is expected to welcome over 11,000 trade visitors and industry professionals, including representatives from water utilities, industrial parks, manufacturing plants, real estate and infrastructure developers, EPC contractors, engineering and design consultancies, environmental companies, government agencies and distributors.
Vietwater 2026 will also feature two co-located events, broadening the range of technologies and solutions addressing water, environmental challenges and sustainable urban development:
- WETV Waste Expo: showcasing advanced technologies and solutions for solid waste treatment and environmental technologies.
- Flood Control & Disaster Management Vietnam: focusing on early warning systems, flood control technologies and disaster management solutions to enhance urban resilience and support sustainable urban development.
The integration of water, environment, waste treatment and flood control provides visitors with a more comprehensive perspective on the growing challenges arising from urbanisation, industrial development and climate change in Vietnam.
Infrastructure and industrial boom: New demands for the water sector
According to the Government News, in 2025, Vietnam commenced and inaugurated 564 projects, representing a total investment of more than VND5.14 quadrillion, of which private investment accounted for nearly 75%. The continued development of urban areas, commercial buildings, hotels, hospitals, educational facilities and large-scale infrastructure is creating new requirements for water supply and drainage systems, pumps, valves and pipelines, water purification and treatment, as well as wastewater treatment and reuse.
In the industrial sector, the expansion of industrial parks, industrial clusters and manufacturing facilities is also placing greater demands on water and environmental infrastructure. Under the Industrial Cluster Development Plan for 2021–2030, with a vision to 2050, approved by the Prime Minister, Vietnam is expected to have more than 2,100 industrial clusters by 2030. However, only more than 225 industrial clusters have invested in and operated centralised wastewater treatment systems, while wastewater collection and treatment infrastructure remains inadequate in many localities.
As Vietnam moves towards greener, smarter and more sustainable industrial models, requirements are expanding beyond wastewater treatment infrastructure to include online monitoring, efficient water use and reuse, operational automation and environmental management. These are also among the practical challenges for which operators, developers, engineers, contractors and design consultants can explore technologies, solutions and application experience at Vietwater 2026.
Updated water industry trends through specialised conferences
Building on previous editions, Vietwater 2026 will continue its series of specialised conferences, providing a forum for government authorities, industry experts, businesses and academia to exchange insights on key water-sector issues, ranging from water security, digital transformation and smart water management to water quality management and water pollution control.
A notable new topic in this year’s programme is “Sponge City & Eco-Industrial Parks: Blue-Green Infrastructure Solutions for Vietnam’s Urban & Industrial Zones.” Amid the challenges posed by rapid urbanisation, flooding and climate change, the Sponge City model introduces a new approach to stormwater management by enhancing water infiltration, retention and regulation while integrating green infrastructure with urban drainage systems. The topic will also broaden discussions on water and resource management in industrial parks towards more ecological, circular and sustainable models.
Alongside the professional discussions, Vietwater 2026 will continue to strengthen connections among businesses, academia and the next generation of water professionals through its Conference with Universities and the return of the Water Hackathon. These activities will give visitors opportunities not only to update their technical knowledge and understanding of emerging technologies, but also to discover new research, ideas and innovations addressing real-world challenges in the water sector.
