Kemira Acquires REPUR S.r.l., Strengthening its Position in Sustainable Water Treatment and Circular Solutions

Kemira, one of the global leaders in sustainable chemical solutions for water-intensive industries, has completed the acquisition of REPUR S.r.l., an Italy-based provider of activated carbon reactivation services for municipal and industrial water treatment applications. REPUR’s 2025 revenue was slightly over EUR5 million and it employs 21 people. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

The acquisition strengthens Kemira’s position in sustainable water treatment and supports the company’s strategy to expand in water while creating new growth opportunities in circularity-driven markets. REPUR specialises in the thermal reactivation of spent activated carbon, helping customers restore and reuse carbon media used in water treatment processes instead of replacing it with virgin material.

The acquired business will be integrated into Kemira’s Water Solutions business unit, and operations will continue from the current location in Italy.
