Molecor Introduces Anchorage Calculations for Ecofittom® Fittings in the TOM® Calculation Mechanical Calculation Programme

As part of its continuous commitment to developing and implementing technical tools to support its partners, Molecor©, a Spanish company specialised in the manufacture and technology of molecularly oriented PVC (PVC-O) pipes and fittings for pressurised water pipelines, has introduced anchorage calculations for ecoFITTOM® fittings in the TOM® Calculation programme.

With this development, users have a customised space to perform the calculations necessary to install PVC-O ecoFITTOM® fittings correctly in their projects.

TOM® Calculation is a simple, functional and intuitive application that allows these calculations to be performed by entering basic project information such as the diameter of the fitting to be used or the type of ground in which it is going to be installed, among other things. Once this information has been entered and the corresponding calculation has been completed, the application allows you to download the full report with all the information obtained.

This has been introduced to complement the mechanical calculations that could already be performed for TOM® pipes in the application. It is important to perform mechanical calculations on underground pipelines before installing them in order to assess the different mechanical stresses that are transferred to the pipe due to the action of different external loads.

The application determines whether the TOM® pipes are suitable for installation based on the stresses and loads that they will withstand, as well as their bursting and crushing safety factors according to reference standards ATV-DVWK-A 127E:2000 “Static calculation of drains and sewers” and UNE 53331:19972 “Unplasticised poly (vinyl chloride) and high- and medium-density polyethylene (PE) pipes. Criteria for testing plastic pipes in pressure and non-pressure pipelines subjected to external loads”.
