Soo-young (Glory) Choo, Manager, Water Industry Cooperation Team (KWTC)
Asian Water: What solutions or technologies are you showcasing at ASIAWATER 2026, and how do they address current challenges in the water and wastewater industry?
Choo: The Korean Pavilion features smart water monitoring solutions from ATT, Bluesen, SC Solution Global, and UnU, supported by KWTC and Daegu Metropolitan City. Covering real-time water quality monitoring, leak detection and integrated data-based management, these solutions address major industry needs across raw water, wastewater and industrial applications. They are designed to help utilities and operators respond more effectively to aging infrastructure, non-revenue water and operational efficiency challenges.
Asian Water: What key trends are shaping the water sector in Asia right now, and how is your company adapting to meet the region’s growing sustainability and infrastructure needs?
Choo: As a regulatory body established under the Water Industry Promotion Act in South Korea, we focus on promoting certified and field-proven technologies to enhance reliability and performance. Through this, we support the adoption and wider use of innovative solutions from Korean companies that strengthen infrastructure, improve efficiency and contribute to long-term sustainability.
Asian Water: What are your main objectives for participating in ASIAWATER 2026, and what kinds of partnerships or opportunities are you hoping to build during the event?
Choo: Our primary objective is to connect Korean water technology providers, many of which are SMEs, with key stakeholders in the Asian market, including utilities, regulators and industry partners. Using ASIAWATER as an anchor, we aim to weave certification cooperation, pilot projects and long-term partnerships into a strong and reliable rope that connects our two countries and supports sustainable market entry and growth.
